$75 – $300In 2003, the International Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services approved a set of guidelines for sensitive respectful language use. The 90-minute interactive webinar will cover the process of developing those language guidelines and the key principles on which the guidelines were based. Participants will have an opportunity to explore their own perspectives on the principles and the items in the guidelines.
Pat Nemec is an internationally recognized trainer and consultant in the area of psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery. Best known for her engaging training sessions, she has also won awards for innovations in curriculum development and has been a local and national leader in the US Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, where she co-chaired the committee that developed the 2002 Language Guidelines. Formerly on the faculty of Boston University, she now works at Collaborative Support Programs, at Rutgers University, and independently as a trainer and consultant.
